Dimitrije Tucovic was one of the most prominent Serbian theorists of his time. The house where he was born had been built in 1855 as a twofold cottage of a larger size. Its olid construction and architectural details represent an example of the older options to build this type of houses.

The house is located in the village of Gostilje, some 30 km far from the Zlatibor centre.

It is classified into the Zlatibor cottage house type and is protected by law.
